GOVERNMENT HOUSE, KATSINA

PRESS RELEASE

Katsina State Governor, Malam Umaru Dikko Radda has reaffirmed his administration's full support for the Core Group Partners Project (CGPP) as it expands interventions into nutrition and maternal and child health across Katsina State.

The Governor gave the assurance during an advocacy meeting with a delegation from the CGPP Global Office, led by Deputy Global Director Ahmed Arale.

Governor Radda commended Save the Children and CGPP for their longstanding support.

"I appreciate Save the Children and the Core Group Partners Project for their continued support to Katsina State over the years. The expansion into nutrition and maternal and child health is timely because our state is in critical need of interventions in these areas," the Governor said.

"My administration is fully committed to supporting this initiative, and we will provide our maximum support to ensure the successful implementation of the project across the benefiting Local Government Areas," Governor Radda stated.

Abubakar Ahmad, CGPP Katsina State Project Manager, appreciated the government for its partnership.

"Save the Children has worked in Katsina State for over 15 years, supporting government efforts to improve the lives of children and vulnerable communities through health, nutrition, education, child protection, and humanitarian interventions," he said.

He noted the successes over the years. Now the expansion builds on that foundation.

"Building on the successes recorded over the years, CGPP is expanding its interventions into nutrition and maternal and child health to respond to the growing needs of women and children in Katsina State," Ahmad stated.

CGPP Deputy Global Director Ahmed Arale commended the Katsina State Government.

"Our visit demonstrates CGPP's commitment to strengthening our partnership with the Katsina State Government. We are confident that by working closely with government, communities, and other partners, we will continue to improve immunization, nutrition, maternal and child health, and primary health care services for the most vulnerable populations," he said.

CGPP Secretariat Director Dr. Lami Samail emphasized the importance of community ownership.

"The expansion into nutrition and maternal and child health reflects our commitment to responding to community needs while building on the gains made in polio eradication," she said.

The Katsina State Government, Save the Children, and CGPP are advancing community health. Strengthening primary health care. Improving nutrition. Ensuring access to lifesaving services.
