The Zamfara State Government has sponsored a mass wedding for 100 couples drawn from vulnerable groups across the state’s 14 local government areas.

Governor Dauda Lawal stated that the initiative underscores his administration’s commitment to supporting the less privileged and improving their welfare.

Represented by the Deputy Governor, Mani Mummune, the governor reaffirmed government’s resolve to uplift vulnerable citizens through targeted social interventions.

As part of the programme, the state government paid a dowry of N200,000 for each bride, while an additional N50,000 was provided to support small-scale businesses for the newlyweds.

The Emir of Kaura Namoda, Alhaji Sanusi Muhammad Asha, represented the brides and formally gave them out in marriage during the ceremony.
