Katsina State Governor, Malam Dikko Umar Radda, has congratulated Brigadier-General Mohammed Buba Marwa (rtd) on his reappointment by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as Chairman of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) for another five-year term.

In a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Ibrahim Kaula Mohammed, the governor described Marwa’s renewed tenure as a recognition of his discipline, integrity, and outstanding record in public service.

Governor Radda said the achievements recorded by the NDLEA under Marwa’s leadership—particularly the arrest of more than 73,000 drug traffickers and the seizure of over 15 million kilogrammes of illicit substances—have restored public confidence in the agency and strengthened Nigeria’s fight against drug abuse.

He also commended the NDLEA’s ongoing prevention and awareness campaigns targeted at safeguarding young people from substance abuse.

The governor highlighted Marwa’s long career in national service, including his tenure as Military Governor of Borno and Lagos States, his service in the Nigerian Army, and his diplomatic postings in Washington, D.C., and at the United Nations. He described him as a reform-driven administrator whose contributions have fortified national institutions.

Radda urged Marwa to intensify efforts in his new term, noting that the battle against drug trafficking requires improved intelligence, faster operations, and deeper community engagement.

He extended congratulations on behalf of the government and people of Katsina State to General Marwa, his family, and the Adamawa community, and prayed for his continued strength and success as he begins another tenure.
