Katsina State Governor Malam Dikko Umaru Radda has announced that Friday, June 27, 2025, will be a work-free day in honor of the New Islamic Year 1447AH. This declaration aims to allow civil servants and residents to join in the celebrations and reflect on the spiritual significance of the new calendar year.

The announcement was made through a statement issued by Abdullahi Aliyu Yar'adua, on behalf of the Secretary to the Government, Abdullahi Garba Faskari. The statement included the Governor's heartfelt congratulations to Muslims both within the state and across Nigeria for witnessing this important occasion.

During the declaration, Governor Radda emphasized the importance of peace and harmony among the citizens of Katsina State, asserting that meaningful development can only occur in a stable environment. He reassured residents that his administration is committed to implementing people-oriented projects that will enhance the quality of life for all.

In light of the ongoing rainy season, Governor Radda urged farmers and beneficiaries of government agricultural support to utilize the fertilizers, tractors, and other farming implements provided to bolster food security. He also warned against illegal encroachments on cattle routes, forests, and grazing reserves, reinforcing the need for responsible agricultural practices.

The Governor concluded his message by praying for continued peace, unity, and prosperity in Katsina State and Nigeria as a whole.

This announcement is part of the government's broader efforts to promote peace, development, and agricultural sustainability in the region.
