Katsina, April 6 – Katsina United FC came from behind to secure a 1-1 draw against Bayelsa United FC in Matchday 32 of the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL), held at the Muhammadu Dikko Stadium, Katsina.
The visitors took the lead in the 42nd minute through a brilliant finish from the flank, putting Bayelsa United ahead before half-time. Katsina United nearly equalised just before the break when Mubarak Said’s powerful free kick struck the crossbar.
In the second half, Katsina United made a triple substitution, bringing in Abubakar Abdullahi, Abdurrahman Garba, and Taofeeq Ahmed, which rejuvenated their attacking efforts. Their persistence paid off in the 77th minute when Abdullahi Musa headed home from a corner delivered by Muhammed Ibrahim, leveling the score.
Despite a late push from the home side and a series of corner kicks, Bayelsa United held firm, and both sides settled for a point.
