Katsina State Scholarship Board says it will begin scholarship awards to successful indigent students across all tertiary institutions in the state on 18 September.
This was revealed by the board's spokesman, Salisu Lawal Kerau through a statement he issued to newsmen in Katsina.
He said the exercise would end on October 9 in various higher institutions of learning within Katsina and its environs.
“The students who applied for scholarship as fresh students in the 2020/2021 academic session, are hereby informed that the board has concluded arrangements to issue them award letters in their various institutions within Katsina Metropolis and its environs.
Therefore all fresh students are required to come along with a photocopy of the registration receipt, or remitta, and a valid school Identity card, before collecting their scholarship awards.
“Similarly, verification would be conducted for all continuing students.
“They are also expected to come along with a photocopy of their scholarship letters, registration receipts or remittas, for verification,” Lawal Kerau said.
He revealed that once disbursement of the scholarship funds begins, indigent students in tertiary institutions within the state would be first cleared.
He confirmed that afterwards, the board would provide the funds to indigent students studying in various tertiary institutions in the country.
