NPC, PIC COLLABORATE ON SURVEY FOR YOUNG ADOLESCENTS

Today, 12th February 2025, the Chairman of National Population Commission (NPC), Hon. Nasir Isa Kwarra, fnsa, received in audience a delegation from Policy Innovation Centre (PIC) led by the Senior Research Specialist, Mr. Emmanuel Nwala, at the NPC's Headquarters, Abuja. 

The meeting centered on a strategic partnership between PIC and the NPC to conduct a comprehensive national survey on gender norms, attitudes, health, and well-being among young adolescents in Nigeria, specifically targeting individuals aged 10 to 14. 

Mr. Nwala emphasized the importance of leveraging the NPC’s expertise and geospatial data to effectively address critical social norms that significantly impact the health and well-being of this vulnerable demographic. 

This collaboration aims to generate valuable insights that can inform policy decisions and promote better health outcomes for Nigeria's youth.

The NPC’s commitment to supporting initiatives that enhance the welfare of young Nigerians was reaffirmed during the discussions, highlighting the necessity of addressing societal attitudes that affect health and well-being.

Both parties expressed optimism about the potential outcomes of the survey and its ability to drive meaningful change in the lives of adolescents across the country.

Attendees included NPC Director-General, Dr. Osifo Tellson Ojogun, as well as various Directors and technical staff.
