Long before anyone outside the immediate Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu family, and those very close to them, became aware that the chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), popularly referred to as ‘leader of APC’, was going to finally throw his hat in to the ring to vie for rhe presidential ticket of the ruling party, I supported my then principal who was the first person to PUBLICLY support the presidential aspiration of Senator Tinubu.

My principal did not only stop at supporting the aspiration of the Senator, he also campaigned for him among the most prominent members of the ruling party, and even those outside it. 

On the realisation of my boss’s political angling, I started writing in his support, adding with my own endorsement of the presidential aspiration of the ‘APC leader’. I have so far penned about ten articles in support of the aspiration, candidature and presidency of Tinubu.

Howe, the  Senator Tinubu I knew is not the President Tinubu of today. I did not know that Mr. President allegedly use and push hard drugs, some Nigerians said so, including one of his spokesmen, Daniel Bwala, when he was the spokesman of Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, the Presidential Flag bearer of the opposition People Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2023 election. I did not know that the President has not obtained a degree from Chicago University, somebody from the US wrote an article, alleging so. 

Above all, I was completely ignorant of the fact that he was allegedly a spy for a foreign government, working with and for its (at least) three intelligence agencies, the foreign agencies insinuated before a court in the US. The President allegedly spies against his country, where he serves as number one citizen. That is CORRUPTION of the highest order at the highest level.

It is no less so when the nation’s Vice President is allocated a mere N33 MILLION, while the Chief of Staff to the President is allocated a humongous N20 BILLION in the country’s 2025 budget. To say that no corruption in Nigeria, is really to live in total denial of the fact. Corruption may have existed in the land earlier, but the PRESENT regime has turned it into a system of governance that most top government officials are very much involved with it, beginning from the very top.

 Corruption under President Tinubu has become so rampant that the ‘armour cable’, supplying electricity to some places would be stolen by the same staff of the electricity supplier, as happened in the Federal Capital, Abuja, not long ago. Had the thieves not been apprehended, they would have sold it at a give away price, for it to be resold to the unsuspecting supplier or another one in the country.

The customers are, meanwhile, left to replace the stolen armour cable or remain without electricity for ever. It is what is happening to electricity customers in Daura Street of Kofar Kaura Layout, Katsina, Katsina state, who have been without power for five days on the trot, because the armour cable from the transformer serving the street was said to be stolen.

It is now for Kano Electricity Distribution Company (KEDCO) to investigate and do the needful. But even before doing that, the customers NEED the electricity back IMMEDIATELY. Five days without electricity are five days too many.

Sometime towards the end of last year, the company (KEDCO) issued out a press statement in which it claimed to have secured a 100$ million (US) loan, and was looking for more money to be able to provide electricity to its states of jurisdiction. It hoped to supply “constant electricity to critical places, such as industries” by the end of December last year (2024). Many people have thought that a  ‘Band A’ area is “critical” enough to be supplied with  “constant electricity”. Daura Street is supposed to be a ‘Band A’ place, but the supply of electricity to the street is even worse than before.

A hungry looking person from Kano came out to publicly accuse Dan Bello of being sponsored by Jews to do what he is known for; castigating the leaders in Nigeria for running down the country with their corruption .

Since what Dan Bello does, “from his foreign base”, is to always defend the truth, and also urge those in positions of authority to be truthful, the person or persons who “sponsor him” are actually doing the nation a world of favour, not harm, as believed by some people.

OBVIOUSLY sponsored, the allegation against Dan Bello was not believed by most people, including this writer. Only insincere people can claim not to notice that there is poverty and pervasive hunger in the country, courtesy of the ongoing massive corruption in the land.

The allegation is undoubtedly going to backfire on the person who made it, like a similar denial backfired on a Hausa praise singer, who like a HARLOT, switches always to where the MONEY is. The praise singer, dared to threaten a foreign Head of a Military Government, to sing “seven insulting songs if you do not recant on the allegation”. The foreign Head of government, had alleged that the Nigerian number one citizen had collected billions of dollars from France to allow the country to bring her military base to Northern Nigeria.

The praise singer got more than what he bargained for, as many Hausa singers, locals and from the foreign country, sang songs of abuse and insult, daring him to carry out his threats. But months afterwards, he is still to make good on his threat.

Not a few Nigerians believe that the allegation was nothing but the truth, since President Tinubu failed to reply to it, but employed his media aides and hired pens, including intellectuals, to respond, ostensibly on their own volition. This attack on the foreign leader from the Nigeria leader’s  attack dogs, failed woefully.

The French military, disgraced and sacked from most of the country’s former African colonies, is already in Nigeria, giving the lies to the vehement denial of some select government top ranking officials, who want the world to believe that the military of the rabidly anti Islam France is NOT on ground in Northern Nigeria, which has a Muslim majority population.

May God decisively deal with people who want force themselves on the people against their wish. Nigeria has such people in numbers, who, it would appear, fear to be poor in the present world, but not in the after world.
