FUDMA registrar dies in Katsina after protracted illness

Iliyasu Falalu-Rafindadi, registrar of the Federal University Dutsinma (FUDMA) in Katsina state, is dead.

Habib Umar-Aminu, spokesperson of the university management, said the professor passed away on Tuesday after a protracted illness.

He described the deceased, who was aged 60, as a seasoned administrator who had served the university in various capacities.

Born in 1964, Falalu-Rafindadi joined the services of FUDMA in December 2011.

He later rose through the ranks to become its registrar on June 1, 2021.

Falalu-Rafindadi served as FUDMA’s academic secretary and establishment secretary before he was appointed registrar.

Armaya’u Bichi, the FUDMA vice-chancellor, paid condolences to the family of the deceased on behalf of the university.

The vice-chancellor said the demise of the registrar is “a great loss” to the university community.

Bichi said he deceased was a “dedicated and hardworking staff member” who contributed immensely to the development of the university.

It is understood that Iliyasu Falalu-Rafindadi has been buried at the Dan Marina cemetery in Katsina.

Before his burial, a funeral service was held at his residence located in the Rafindadi community of Katsina town.
