Katsina State Approves ₦18 Billion Payout for Retirees' Entitlements

At the 7th executive council meeting held on Wednesday, July 17, 2024, the Katsina State Government approved the release of ₦8,052,861,331.04 to settle the entitlements of state government retirees from January 2020 to August 2023. These funds will be disbursed over six months to ensure timely payment of retirees' benefits.
Governor Dr. Dikko Umar Radda also authorised the release of ₦10,373,901,516.87 to the Ministry of Local Government and Emirates to pay the entitlements of local government employees and LEA teachers who retired during the same period. This amount will be paid over twelve months.
Governor Radda reiterated his administration's commitment to promptly settling all inherited debts owed to retirees, to provide a conducive environment for state and local government pensioners during these challenging times.
