Katsina Police Arrests 3 Notorious Kidnappers, Others, Recovers Arms Ammunition, Fake Naira Notes

Katsina State Police Command has arrested 14 suspected criminals who specialize in committing various crimes ranging from kidnapping, defrauding and banditry in the state.
Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) of the Command, Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP), Abubakar Sadiq Aliyu paraded the suspects before journalists on behalf of the State Commissioner of Police, CP Aliyu Abubakar Musa at the Command headquarters in Katsina.
On the arrest of three suspected notorious kidnappers and the recovery of three rounds of 7.62 MM ammunition, ASP, Sadiq Aliyu said on different dates and times in the month of April 2023, the command succeeded in arresting the following:- a 30 years old Haruna Mohammed; Yahaya Alhassan, 28 years old;
Idris Isah, 30 years old all of Jigawa state and Zuhairu Umar,
25 years old of Turaki village, Baure local government area of Katsina State.
Assistant Superintendent of Police Sadiq Aliyu said the suspects were all members of a suspected notorious kidnap for ransom syndicate.
He explained that, on “1st of October, 2022, the suspects conspired with three other suspects, namely, (1) Rago, (2) Garba Margododo, and (3) Idris, all of Ringim in Jigawa state, now at large, to attack the residence of one Alhaji Sidi Usman, m, of Unguwar Rai village, via Baure LGA, and kidnap his wife along with her three (3) month old baby.”
He said upon received of the report, Police detectives promptly swung into action and succeeded in tracking and arresting the aforementioned suspects. adding that, in the course of the investigation, suspects confessed to the commission of the offense, as three rounds of 7.62mm live ammunition were recovered in their possession.
On the arrest of the suspected notorious arm bandit, ASP Aliyu said it was on August 28, 2023, at about 1730 hours, the command succeeded in arresting a 30 years old Lawal Alhaji Idris of Shuwaki village in Faskari Local Government Area who terrorized the area and
confessed to the commission of the offense and mentioned the following as his cohorts, Tsoho Danfulani,.Miyalla Danfulani,
Zaharaddini Danyaro all of the same address now at large.
He said the suspect, Lawal Alhaji Idris in his revelation to the Police confessed to being the mastermind behind the kidnapping of one Alhaji Hussaini of Shuwaki village, Faskari local government area in the process of which one person was shot and killed and also attempted to kidnap one Alhaji Musa of Gidan Dan Gwamna village and stole beans.
The Spokesman of the Katsina State Police Command reiterated that, effort is on with a view to arresting other fleeing members of the syndicate.
However, on the arrest of ten suspected fraudsters and the recovery of one hundred and forty – four (144) pieces of suspected counterfeit Naira notes.
ASP Abubakar Sadiq Aliyu disclosed that, on August 28, 2023, at about 0800 hours based on credible information, the command succeeded in arresting Alhaji Ali Yau, aged 67 years old, Alhaji Alhassan Suleiman, aged 35 years old, of Kwarbai Quarters, Zaria Local Government Area, Kaduna State, Bello Abubakar, aged 58 years old, of Dogon Rimi, Kamba Local Government Area of Kebbi State and Aliyu Usman, aged 35 years, of Bakin Kasuwa quarters, Kankia Local Government Area of Katsina State.
ASP Sadiq Aliyu mentioned other suspected fraudsters as, Uzaifa Ishaq, age 48, of Dorayi,Kano State, Kabir Ibrahim, age 40, of Bakin Kasuwa Quarters, Kankia local government area, Babangida Abdullahi, aged 40, of the same address, Nasiru Mani, aged 48 years, of Malamawa village, Matazu local government area,
Mansur Abubakar, age 55, of the same address, and Ukashat Sulaiman, aged 25 years old, of Mai Hausawa quarters, Kamba
local government area Kebbi state.
Assistant Superintendent of Police, Abubakar Sadiq Aliyu emphasized that, the suspected notorious fraudsters specialize in defrauding unsuspecting members of the public using counterfeit currencies.stressing that, nemesis caught up with the suspects when credible information about their activities in a house situated at Bakin Kasuwa quarters, Kankia local government area was received.
He said promptly, detectives swung into action and succeeded in arresting the aforementioned suspects..saying that, during a search conducted in the house, a bottle containing liquid suspected to be mercury and one hundred and forty-four (144) pieces of suspected counterfeit Naira of one thousand denomination were recovered in the suspects possession as they confessed to the commission of the offense.
