Katsina State's 2024 Key Initiatives: Agriculture, Infrastructure, Security, Education, and Medical Advancements

In a decisive session on Wednesday, 14 February 2024, Governor Mal. Dikko Umaru Radda and the Katsina State Executive Council unveiled key initiatives for the year.
1. Agriculture Boost: The Council approved the procurement of 20,000 tons of fertilizers, strategically addressing monsoon preparations. The composition includes 6,000 tons of UREA, 8,000 tons of NPK 15:15, and 6,000 tons of NPK 10:10.
2. Infrastructure Advancements: A substantial disbursement of six billion two hundred and fifty-nine million naira has been greenlighted to settle outstanding debts, aiding the completion of projects. Notably, the Galadanci road project will be redirected to CPS Police Station with the addition of Solar Lights.
3. Enhanced Security Measures: The Executive Council approved the acquisition of monitoring equipment, including Tipper, Caterpillar, Motorcycle, Hillux, for Development Control within the Ministry of Lands and Security. The budget for this initiative is set at one hundred and twenty million naira.
4. Education Expansion: Governor Radda authorized the establishment and construction of three significant special schools in each zone within Katsina State, with projects already underway in Dumurkul town (Daura zone), Radda town (Katsina zone), and Jikamshi town (Funtua zone).
5. Medical Advancements: A state-of-the-art medical facility tailored for severe ailments, including heart and liver diseases prevalent in Katsina State, has received approval from the Council. The initiative aims to enhance healthcare services in the region.
