In a resolute dedication to advancing education, Hajiya Zulaihat Dikko Radda, the wife of the Governor of Katsina State, has reaffirmed her commitment to partnering with private organizations, educational institutions, and various stakeholders. This commitment was eloquently expressed during the inauguration of a three-day training session at the State Government House on Thursday, November 23, 2023.
The session, meticulously organized by the "Safe Space Humanitarian Initiative" (SASHI) in collaboration with the AGILE Program and the State Ministry of Education, focused on emergency procedures and self-protection measures for teachers and students. Hajiya Zulaihat Dikko underscored the crucial role of such initiatives in fostering conducive learning environments across schools in Katsina State.
Illustrating the broader impact of the program, Mustapha Shehu, Chairman of the AGILE Program in Katsina State, reported that the Training Program has already enrolled five thousand students. Projections indicate a significant benefit for seventeen thousand male students and nineteen thousand female students by 2025.
In her address to the audience, Hajiya Hadiza Abubakar Yar'Adua, the Commissioner for Primary Education and Secondary Schools, eloquently outlined the State Government's comprehensive policy to revitalize education throughout the entire state.
Underlining the necessity for sustained support from stakeholders, Hajiya Zulaihat Dikko urged continuous backing for the government's initiatives. She highlighted the diverse impact of the SASHI program, extending beyond education to encompass health, climate change, and various facets of community development.
Prominent figures contributing to the discourse included Dr. Kabir Magaji, Chairman of the Katsina State Universal Basic Education Board "SUBEB," Alh. Sada Ibrahim Chairman for the Teachers Service Board (TSB), and Dr. Halima Yalwa Adamu, among others.
The meeting, graced by the presence of Hajiya Asma'u Faruk Lawal Jobe, the Deputy Governor's wife, several permanent secretaries of Katsina State, and key figures like Hajiya Binta Hussaini Dangani, Head of the Katsina State Emergency Relief Agency, showcased a collective commitment to elevating education and community well-being in Katsina State.
