'Enough Is Enough' — Gov. Yusuf Condemns Bandit Raids, Orders Security Reinforcement

Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf of Kano State has vowed to strengthen security measures across affected communities following a wave of bandit attacks that have left residents in fear and mourning.

The governor gave the assurance while reacting to recent attacks carried out by armed bandits in several parts of the state, including Chiromawa in Garun Mallam Local Government Area, Beli in Rogo Local Government Area, Bebeji Local Government Area, and communities around Gwarzo.

In a statement issued on Tuesday by his Director-General of Media and Publicity, Sanusi Bature, Yusuf described the incidents as alarming and unacceptable, stressing that his administration would not relent in its efforts to safeguard lives and property.

The governor expressed deep sympathy to families who lost loved ones and those affected by the attacks, noting that the security and wellbeing of Kano residents remain a top priority of his government.

According to him, the state government is already working closely with security agencies to tackle the situation and prevent further violence in the affected areas.

Yusuf disclosed that he had directed relevant authorities to intensify surveillance operations, strengthen intelligence gathering, and improve rapid response mechanisms to ensure quicker intervention whenever threats emerge.

He assured residents that decisive steps were being taken to restore confidence and enhance security across vulnerable communities.

“Government is working closely with security agencies to address the situation,” the governor said, urging residents not to panic despite the recent developments.

He called on community members to support ongoing security efforts by providing useful and credible information that could help security operatives track down those responsible for the attacks and prevent future incidents.

The governor also commended security personnel for their commitment and sacrifices in protecting communities, urging them to sustain intelligence-driven operations aimed at dismantling criminal networks operating within and around the state.

Yusuf further appealed to residents to remain calm and avoid actions capable of escalating tensions, assuring them that the government remains fully committed to restoring peace and normalcy.

He offered prayers for those who lost their lives in the attacks, wished the injured a speedy recovery, and expressed hope for the safe return of individuals reportedly abducted during the incidents.
