Atiku/Amaechi Movement Targets Katsina Victory for Atiku, Kaita

The Katsina State chapter of the Atiku/Amaechi Movement has pledged to mobilise support and deliver the state to the African Democratic Congress (ADC) presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, and its gubernatorial candidate, Ahmad Babba Kaita, in the 2027 general elections.

The movement, which describes itself as a national coalition of Nigerians within and outside the country seeking to unseat the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), made the commitment during a meeting with its executive members drawn from the 34 local government areas of Katsina State.

Addressing the gathering at the Ahmad Babba Kaita Gubernatorial Campaign Office in Katsina, the State Coordinator of the movement, Alhaji Sani Abubakar, announced that the organisation had expanded its structure and coverage in the state.

He said the movement would henceforth be known in Katsina as the Atiku/Amaechi/Kaita Movement, reflecting its support for the ADC presidential and gubernatorial candidates.

While submitting the movement’s introductory letter to the ABK Gubernatorial Campaign Office through one of the ADC’s Katsina Central Senatorial aspirants, Alhaji Surajo Aminu-Makera, the State Secretary, Alhaji Aliyu Ahmad Kurfi, said the movement was already fully established across the state.

According to him, the movement has 20 executive members at the state level responsible for its affairs, while each of the 34 local government areas also has 20 executive members.

He added that the structure extends to the grassroots, with one leader assigned to each ward and five members responsible for each polling unit.

Responding, Alhaji Surajo Aminu-Makera commended the leadership of the movement for its initiative and assured its members of the full support and cooperation of the Ahmad Babba Kaita Gubernatorial Campaign Office.

Makera urged residents of Katsina State to continue supporting the ADC, expressing confidence that Nigerians would experience improved governance under an ADC-led administration with former Vice President Atiku Abubakar as President.

Meanwhile, the ADC has continued to receive various support groups and associations ahead of the official commencement of the 2027 presidential campaign, scheduled for August 19, as contained in the timetable released by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
