Former Katsina State Governor and Chairman of the Governing Council of the Nigerian Shippers' Council, Barrister Ibrahim Shehu Shema, has called on members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to remain united and intensify grassroots mobilisation ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Shema made the call on Tuesday during the inauguration of the Tinubu Dikko Again 2027 campaign office along Daura Road near Hajj Camp in Katsina.

The political support organisation, established under his leadership, is aimed at mobilising support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Katsina State Governor, Malam Dikko Umar Radda, ahead of the next general elections.

Addressing party members and supporters, Shema said the APC should remain focused on strengthening its structures from the state level down to local government areas, wards and polling units through sustained engagement with the electorate.

He urged party members to intensify grassroots campaigns by reaching out to voters from house to house and community to community, stressing that effective mobilisation would be critical to the party's success in 2027.

The former governor also appealed to APC supporters to remain united behind President Tinubu and Governor Radda, noting that national development requires patience and collective commitment.

According to him, governance often demands difficult decisions whose benefits may not be immediately visible, adding that no administration can fulfil every campaign promise within a single tenure.

He said the economic and security reforms being implemented by the Tinubu administration were designed to address long-standing national challenges and should be given adequate time to yield results.

Shema urged Nigerians to continue praying for the country's leaders while supporting government efforts aimed at improving security, reviving the economy and promoting social development.

He also called on traditional rulers, religious leaders, community leaders and development partners to collaborate with government in tackling insecurity, particularly kidnapping and other violent crimes, describing security as a collective responsibility.

Expressing optimism about Nigeria's future, the former governor said he believed the country, especially the northern region, would witness improvements in security and economic development if ongoing reforms received sustained public support.

Governor Dikko Umar Radda, who also addressed the gathering, expressed confidence that the APC would retain power in the 2027 general elections, citing what he described as the party's strong grassroots support and the performance of his administration.

Radda said the newly inaugurated campaign organisation, with structures across the state's 34 local government areas, wards and polling units, would strengthen mobilisation efforts among women, youths and other supporters.

He also commended Shema for spearheading the establishment of the campaign platform, describing it as an initiative that would further consolidate the APC's political strength in Katsina State.

Other speakers at the event included businessman Alhaji Dahiru Barau Mangal (GOC), former Deputy Governor of Katsina State, Alhaji Tukur Ahmed Jikamshi, who chairs the Renewed Hope organisation in the state, and the APC State Chairman, Dr Bishir Gambo Saulawa.

Among dignitaries in attendance were Alhaji Idi Kwado Talban Damagaran, Rt. Hon. Nasiru Yahaya Daura Katsina Speaker House of Assembly, Chief of staff Katsina government house Abdulkadir Mamman Nasir, Ibrahim Tukur Dankaba, the Katsina State Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Bishir Tanimu Gambo, who also serves as Secretary of the Tinubu Dikko Again 2027 organisation, alongside other APC leaders and supporters from across the state.
