The National Leader of the National Democratic Coalition (NDC), Senator Seriake Dickson, says the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has restored the party's access to its online candidate nomination portal, allowing it to submit the names of its candidates for upcoming elections.
Dickson disclosed this in a post on his X account, describing the development as a significant step that enables the party to complete its nomination process despite the ongoing legal dispute surrounding its registration.
According to him, the restored access allowed the NDC to upload the names of its candidates and continue preparations for the elections.
The development comes as the NDC pursues an appeal over a court judgment relating to its registration. The party is challenging a Federal High Court ruling that set aside an earlier judgment compelling INEC to register it.
Dickson has maintained that the NDC has not been deregistered and remains a legally recognised political party while the appeal is pending. He said the legal proceedings do not prevent the party from participating in the electoral process.
