The African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Katsina State has officially launched its campaign for the party’s candidate for the Daura Senatorial District, Hon. Sani Lawal Garki, as well as its candidates for the National and State Houses of Assembly, ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The campaign rally was held on Saturday, September 12, 2026, in Daura Local Government Area of Katsina State.

The event attracted prominent leaders and stakeholders of the party, including the ADC Deputy Governorship Candidate, Architect Aminu Yar’Adua; Katsina State Chairman of the party, Alhaji Lawal Batagarawa; Brigadier General Maharazu Tsiga; Hajiya Amina Lawal, the party’s State Women Leader; Hon. Babangida Talau Malumfashi, among others.

Speaking at the rally, Batagarawa expressed confidence that the people of Katsina State would vote massively for the ADC in the 2027 elections.

He urged voters to come out in large numbers on election day and vote for the party, saying, “On election day, I urge everyone to come out and vote for the ADC. When casting your ballot, look for the party with the symbol of a handshake and cast your vote for it.”

He further described voting for the ADC as a means of reclaiming the people’s freedom and escaping what he called the difficult situation facing the country.

“I call on the people to vote for the ADC so that we can get out of the hardship we are experiencing. The major way we can overcome this situation is by voting for the ADC,” Batagarawa said.

Also speaking, Architect Aminu Yar’Adua, who represented the party’s governorship candidate, Senator Ahmad Babba Kaita, said the ADC had developed various programmes and policies at both federal and state levels that would directly benefit ordinary Nigerians if the party wins the 2027 elections.

He called on the people to unite and work together to remove the APC from power and replace it with the ADC.

In his remarks, the ADC candidate for the Daura Senatorial District, Hon. Sani Lawal Garki, said the people of Katsina State, particularly residents of Daura Local Government Area, had witnessed the achievements of Senator Ahmad Babba Kaita during his tenure as senator representing the district.

He therefore appealed to the electorate to reciprocate such service by supporting the ADC, urging them to “return good for good.”

Garki also commended the ADC for giving young people significant opportunities to participate in politics, describing it as evidence of the party’s commitment to progressive political policies.

He said the party had maintained its commitment to its principles since its establishment, adding that the people were already familiar with the political programmes and agenda of the ADC presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar.

He consequently urged the electorate to vote for the ADC at all levels, from the grassroots to the federal level, in the 2027 elections.
