A Katsina-based activist and member of Africans Rising, Comrade Bishir Dauda Sabuwar Unguwa, has announced plans to launch a book documenting his 2025 road trip from Lagos, Nigeria, to Dakar, Senegal, in September.

Dauda disclosed this during a brief interview with Katsina Times in Katsina on Monday.

He said the journey, undertaken between April 1 and 25, 2025, took him through 10 West African countries, where he spent about two days in each country visiting historical sites, markets and schools, as well as interacting with people from different backgrounds.

According to him, the journey was motivated by his advocacy for a borderless Africa and Pan-Africanism, as well as his desire to highlight the contributions of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) to security, peace and economic integration in the region.

Dauda said he documented his experiences in a book titled Title and Solidarity Would Echo, which combines his personal travel experiences with discussions on the history, objectives and organisational structure of ECOWAS.

He said the book also examines the regional organisation’s contributions to security, peace and economic integration in West Africa.

“The book supports the narrative that promotes African unity, borderless Africa, African integration, peace and democracy in Africa,” he said.

The author said he consulted several books and academic works by established scholars during the preparation of the publication to strengthen his arguments and provide historical context to issues discussed in the book.

He said the book, which has been completed, is expected to be formally presented to the public in September.

Dauda said the publication would be useful to students, teachers, academics, diplomats, analysts and other readers interested in African history, regional integration and Pan-Africanism.

He appealed to Nigerians and Africans to support the book project through purchasing copies when it is released or contributing towards its public presentation.

He said the initiative was intended to contribute to discussions on African unity, peace, democracy and regional integration.

Dauda is also an advocate of borderless Africa and Pan-Africanism and a member of Africans Rising, a pan-African movement focused on justice, peace and dignity across the continent.
