Kano Pilgrims Board Issues Final Warning as Sept. 25 Hajj Registration Deadline Nears

The Kano State Pilgrims Welfare Board has reiterated that September 25 remains the final deadline for payment of hajj deposits and registration for the 2027 pilgrimage, warning that no extension will be granted beyond the stipulated date.

The board’s Director-General, Alhaji Abubakar Ibrahim-Matawalle, issued the reminder in a statement released on Wednesday in Kano through the board’s Public Relations Officer, Sulaiman Dederi.

According to the statement, prospective pilgrims who fail to complete their registration and deposit payments before the deadline risk forfeiting their chances of participating in the 2027 hajj exercise.

The board had earlier fixed the hajj deposit at N8 million for intending pilgrims and stressed that only those who meet all registration requirements within the specified period would be considered for seat allocation.

“All intending pilgrims should complete their payments and registration before the deadline to secure their places for pilgrimage,” the statement quoted Ibrahim-Matawalle as saying.

The Director-General emphasized that the board would not extend the registration window under any circumstances, nor would it allocate hajj seats to individuals who fail to meet the deadline.

He explained that the firm stance was necessary to enable the board to carry out effective planning, logistics coordination, and other preparatory activities required for a successful pilgrimage operation.

Ibrahim-Matawalle noted that the board had already put in place measures aimed at ensuring a well-organized and efficient 2027 hajj exercise, adding that early registration would facilitate smooth arrangements for pilgrims.

He also reaffirmed the board’s commitment to maintaining transparency, accountability, and high service standards throughout the pilgrimage process.

The board urged all prospective pilgrims across the state to comply with registration procedures and complete their payments promptly to avoid missing the opportunity to undertake the sacred journey in 2027.

With the countdown to the deadline underway, officials warned that failure to act before September 25 could result in the loss of a coveted hajj seat, as preparations for the pilgrimage move into full gear.
