NDLEA KATSINA HOLDS ROAD WALK RALLY TO MARK 2026 WORLD DRUG DAY

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA Katsina State Command, on Friday, 26th June 2026, held a road walk rally to commemorate the 2026 International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking, also known as World Drug Day.


The well-organized rally attracted a large turnout of stakeholders who marched against drug abuse and illicit drug trafficking. 


The exercise, led by the 18th State Commander, Commander of Narcotics CN Samaila Danmalam, had in attendance the Secretary to the Government of Katsina State, Barr. Abdullahi Garba Faskari, who represented His Excellency, Governor Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, PhD. Also present were the Special Adviser to the Governor on Narcotics and Human Trafficking, senior officials of the Command, representatives of NGOs, NYSC WADA Club members, members of the press, motorists, other distinguished stakeholders, and officers and men of the Command.


The 10-kilometre walk commenced from the NDLEA State Headquarters, Kofar Kwaya, and passed through Sabon Layi, Kofar Marusa, Kiddies Junction, Kofar Kaura, and Tayoyi Junction before terminating at the starting point.


In his address, the State Commander, CN Samaila Danmalam, thanked all participants, particularly officials of the Katsina State Government, for their support and solidarity. He reiterated NDLEA’s commitment to continue partnering with the State Government and other stakeholders to rid Katsina State of the drug menace. He also highlighted the significance of World Drug Day and the global campaign against drug abuse.

Also speaking, the SSG, Barr. Abdullahi Garba Faskari, commended NDLEA for its efforts in sanitizing the State of illicit drug activities that threaten peace, progress, and development. He reaffirmed the unwavering commitment of the Katsina State Government, under Governor Radda, to strengthen partnership with NDLEA towards achieving a drug-free Katsina State.


The event concluded at about 1200hrs with refreshments, group photographs, entertainment, and other pleasantries.
