Nigeria’s Media Industry Mourns as Information Minister Pays Tribute to Late Oladipo

The Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, has expressed profound sorrow over the death of renowned journalist and Publisher of The Eagle Online, Dotun Oladipo, describing his passing as a significant loss to Nigeria’s media landscape.

In a statement released on Friday in Abuja through his Media Aide, Rabiu Ibrahim, the minister paid glowing tribute to the veteran journalist, whose career spanned decades of impactful reporting and media entrepreneurship.

Oladipo reportedly died on Tuesday in Lagos at the age of 56, drawing condolences from across the journalism profession and public sphere.

Reacting to the news, Idris said the late publisher distinguished himself as a committed journalist whose work left a lasting imprint on political reporting and the evolution of digital journalism in Nigeria.
