In a statement issued on Monday by his Chief Press Secretary, Ibrahim Kaula, the governor described Sa’adu’s accomplishment as a proud moment for Katsina State and a testament to the potential of its young people.
Radda said the achievement of the student from Sarki Umar Faruq Umar (SUFU) Secondary School, Daura, highlights what can be achieved when youths are provided with quality education, proper guidance, and opportunities to develop their talents.
According to the governor, Sa’adu represented Nigeria in the highly competitive international exchange programme and distinguished herself during her one-year academic stay at Sylvan Hills High School in Arkansas, United States.
He noted that she was named Best Student for January 2026 and also received Certificates of Proficiency in both English and Hausa languages, underscoring her academic excellence and cultural competence.
The governor said her accomplishments reflected not only outstanding academic performance but also strong leadership qualities and a commitment to promoting cultural values.
Radda added that Sa’adu’s success reinforces the importance of his administration’s investment in the education sector, particularly efforts aimed at enhancing learning standards and expanding access to quality education across the state.
He also commended the State Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education, under the leadership of Yusuf Sulaiman-Jibia, for providing platforms that enable students to compete and excel on the global stage.
The governor further noted that Sa’adu was one of only seven Nigerian students selected for the renowned programme, which offers participants leadership development, academic enrichment, and cross-cultural learning opportunities.
Expressing confidence in her future, Radda said the experience and skills she gained through the programme would contribute significantly to her personal growth and serve as motivation for other students in Katsina State.
He congratulated Sa’adu, her family, teachers, and the entire SUFU Secondary School community on the achievement and wished her greater success in future endeavours.
